April 16, 2008: Travis County won't look into Perry e-mail rule complaint. Bad news for open records hero John Washburn.

Elise Hu, a political reporter and blogger at KVUE-TV in Austin, Texas, initiated a series in October 2007 about how Texas governor Rick Perry's office handles e-mail retention.

Hu was inspired to do this after reading about the e-mail retention policies (or lack thereof) of Missouri Governor Matt Blunt.
