Sunshine Week 2008

Sunshine Week 2008 will be celebrated from March 16-22, 2008.

Sunshine Week 2008 is the fourth such week--the first having been held in March 2005.

Sunshine Week is "a national initiative to open a dialogue about the importance of open government and freedom of information." Sunshine Week is led by the American Society of Newspaper Editors.

The Lucy Burns Institute is encouraging bloggers to honor Sunshine Week 2008 by participating in a Sunshine Blogger Project effort to enable a state-by-state comparision of whether America's gubernatorial offices store and maintain e-mail records in such a way that they are readily able to produce copies of those records without undue expense or delay. The Sunshine Blogger Project is not affiliated with or a project of "Sunshine Week 2008".
