You're cordially invited to join the State Sunshine Google Group.
Joining is easy and free. The e-group is a place where members discuss open government issues at the state level.
As a member of the group, you can easily and confidentially ask questions about the process of filing open records requests in your state. When you encounter obstacles, as a member of the group you might find someone else who has good ideas on what to do next.
The subject matter of the group is filing open records (FOIA) requests at the state and local level.
People of all political backgrounds belong to the group, and we don't argue about politics.
Our common interest is helping each other navigate the state-level open records process.
Join now to seek and offer guidance and support. If you have any questions about joining the group, please e-mail Leslie Graves at l.graves@lucyburns.org.

A completely accurate answer depends on what state you are talking about, but personnel files are often exempt from FOIA laws.
